This trio from Munich is one of the pioneers
of new Alpine folkmusic. Their jazz background adds a sharper edge to traditional
melodies. Once they get hold of the sedate dance tunes and subject them
to lively intonation and overblowing techniques it sounds as though jazz
giant Albert Ayler were lost in a Bavarian beer tent. This is eccentric
music that surprises and refreshes.
