| Guy Klusevcek Der Akkordeonist aus der radikalen Szene New Yorks hat von John Zorn über Laurie Anderson bis zum Kronos Quartet mit vielen Neutönern gespielt. In Europa wurde er als Initiator des 'Accordion Tribe'-Ensembles bekannt. Um seinen eigenen Wurzeln in der slowenischen "Community" nachzuspüren, startete Klucevsek in den achtziger Jahren das "Polka from the Fringe-"Projekt, für das namhafte Komponisten Polkas der eher schrägen Art schrieben. Guy Klusevcek This accordion player from the New York radical music scene has work with many high profile artists such as John Zorn, Laurie Anderson and the Kronos Quartet. In Europe he is know as the leader of the "Accordion tribe" ensemble. To explore his roots in the American-Slovenian community Klusevcek started a project in the 1980s called "polka from the fringe" for which many modern composers contributed. Los Lobos "Die Wölfe" wurden 1974 im Mexikanerviertel von Los Angeles gegründet. Ihr Sound ließ aufhorchen, weil er auf originelle Weise Rock 'n' Roll mit Tex-Mex-Klängen verband. 1983 erhielten sie einen Grammy, waren 1986 auf Paul Simons "Graceland" Album vertreten, bevor ihnen 1987 mit "La Bamba" ein Welthit glückte, der der Tex-Mex-Musik zu weltweiter Aufmerksamkeit verhalf. Los Lobos "The wolves" came to fame out of the Chicano barrio of Los Angeles with a particular sound blending rock 'n' roll and Tex-Mex. They won a Grammy in 1983, and recorded with Paul Simon for his "Graceland" album in 1986, before scoring a major hit with "La Bamba" in 1987, which helped the breakthrough of Tex-Mex music on an international scale. |
