is one of highest quality, best sounding southern soul compilations we've
heard -- and features work by some of the south's greatest -- like OV Wright,
Sam Dees, Bobby Blue Bland and Johnny Copeland, plus even more lesser knowns

It does feature plenty of bluesy R&B ballads like George Perkins And The
Silver Stars "Crying In the Streets", Joe Medwick's "I Cried", Bobby Blue
Bland's "Road Of The Brokenhearted Man" and more, but there is also plenty
of rockin' sockin' soul, and hard stepping groovers from the scene. The
title is more of a catch all for the era than it is this particular batch
of songs, and that's a great thing, providing much variety! 24 songs in
